This Series of Books could also be called Survival Guide to Hard Times. Its purpose is to enable living to continue in the face of job loss, inflation, market crash, and/or economic depression. These books make unique contributions to the Money Problems, known as the New Economy, defined by any or all of these factors.:Inflation is reducing the purchasing power of the dollar.
--Out of control spending has turned us into a debtor nation in the world community.
--Jobs are being outsourced overseas regardless of their effect on the national economy.
--Our inability to compete for foreign oil will cause a massive change in our culture.
--The shortage of oil in an oil dependent culture will disrupt everybody’s life style.
--The resulting unemployment will require a much more independent way of living.
--Water or food or energy shortages will compete to be the next crisis with oil leading the way

The Key Word is Surviving the changes in our culture by any of these factors.
The sooner you accept the problem and start working on your own behalf, the easier Survival will be for you and your family. Face the fact that this catastrophe is with us and will not go away.

I can tell you how it ends. Sometime in the future, your great-grand-kids will shake their heads and say, "Poor old Gramps. He’s/ She’s hallucinating again". After a few generations of good times, the hard earned lessons are all forgotten.
"If you don’t learn from history, you are doomed to repeat it."

Hard Times Vol 3, Energy, cover

Hard Times Peak Oil, Volume III, Energy- Basic Information For Making the Best use Of  The Fuel We Have For Essemtial Human Needs.

Historically, we have never faced a disaster of this scope and magnitude and new measures and procedures need to be assembled.

Within our present culture, anything that interrupts or reduces our energy supply may be defined as a disaster. What do we do in case of a disaster? We have a Plan to follow:

Plan A

Call the relevant agency or department and notify them of the problem. Wait for them to fix it. If it is a physical disaster incident, we just wait for the responsible agency to dig us out, take us to safety, feed and water us, issue blankets and possibly tents or trailers, give us a handout for recovery. At least, that is how it is supposed to work.

Plan B

If your situation is remote from a concentration of people, add a time delay and wait.

In earlier times, it was described as,"Sitting on the dock, waiting for your ship to come in."

OR

Take care of yourself and your neighbors.

Plan C (What? I thought there was never more than one alternate plan. )

This book is part of Plan C, in addition to the other two books of this title. It is a unique assembly of what you need to know in order to Survive.

Redefining This Disaster

The Economic Depression is an additional burden that must be shouldered and that will make recovery from the energy shortage disaster all the harder.

Forget about solving the problem by throwing money at it- like the government is doing now.

Forget about the way things were; they will likely never return.

Forget about massive government help. Washington is preoccupied with the Big Picture,

Forget about rebuilding assistance. Most of the moneys will have been used for bailouts and other tools of aid. ( A "bailout" is similar to an anchor with no chain- "Throw it over anyway, it might do some good." )

Forget about all those emergency agencies. By the time you read this, many of those agencies will have closed their doors, due to insufficient funds- to use a banking phrase. If you do not have assistance within eyesight- Do it yourself to survive.

It’s time to face reality and start learning what you need to know for SURVIVAL in a new, energy short, money scarce, culture.

No one is in a position to help you survive, they are likely fashioning their own lifeboat as you read this.

You are On Your Own.

Oh yes. Besides the books of this Series, You will need: First Aid For Disaster Stress Trauma, A Lay Person’s Guide. There will be a lot of trauma before this is solved.
